WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — Senator Jack Reed is being given special recognition as he is set to receive a governmental service award at the 36th Annual Direct Service Provider Celebration.
This comes as Senator Reed has been a strong advocate of the autism community and has supported numerous efforts to improve their well-being.
Reed will also help the non-profit trade association honor Rhode Island’s direct support professionals of the year.
Dozens of members with the association provide services to adults and children with disabilities.
The event will begin at 9:30 this morning at Crowne Plaza in Warwick.
